About the Journal

 

ULUM ISLAMIYYAH  is a refereed journal published by USIM Press (Penerbit USIM), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) annually in April, August and December. It serves as a platform to publish scholarly works and researches undertaken at the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, as well as other institutions that promote, enhance and contribute to an inclusive understanding of Islam and Muslims in the contemporary world. ULUM ISLAMIYYAH publishes original research-based articles, concept papers, review papers, case studies, book reviews in English, Arabic and Malay, in the area of social sciences, humanities, arts and literature.

ULUM ISLAMIYYAH is available online. Printed versions are only available upon request and orders will be charged accordingly.  

Views and opinions contained in the articles are solely those of the authors' and may not necessarily be the reflection of the Journal's thought, view or stand. Nevertheless, Ulum Islamiyyah does not accept articles that promote hate, violence, and any other written work which promotes illegality and criminality including those which may be offensive to certain individuals or societies in general.

Aims: Islamic Social Sciences and Humanities

Ulum Islamiyyah’s Scope:

  1. Islamic Law and Jurisprudence: Shariah, Maqasid Shariah (Objectives of Islamic Law), Usul al-Fiqh (Fundamentals of Islamic Jurisprudence), Comparative Islamic Law, Islamic policy and Regulation, Rights and Ethics in Islam.
  2. Islamic Economics, Finance and Management: Financial Technology, Islamic Banking, Islamic Social Finance, Zakat and Waqf Administration, Sustainable and Ethical Investments, Human Resource, Islamic Leadership, Islamic Wealth Management and Strategic Management.
  3. Islamic Education and Learning technologies: Online Education, Language studies, curriculum development, Islamic pedagogy, Blended Learning, Innovative Education.
  4. Islamic Theology and History: Usul al-Din (fundamental beliefs of Islam), Quranic studies, Hadith studies, Sirah Studies, Islamic Thought, Islamic Civilization and Da’wah.

The journal is committed to publishing high-quality, original research that promotes a deeper understanding of the intellectual and cultural heritage of Islam. It also seeks to foster constructive dialogue between Islamic scholarship and other academic disciplines, promoting a broader understanding of the role of Islam in history and its ongoing relevance in the modern world.

We welcome contributions from scholars of all backgrounds and encourage interdisciplinary approaches that engage with both classical Islamic texts and contemporary issues.
