It is also can be considered as an alternative area to be explored especially in the current situation where the world is affected by the pandemic of COVID-19 globally. It justifies the need to research this topic to leverage its benefits to various perspectives including the asnaf community. Unfortunately, despite its importance, limited studies have been found were conducted on entrepreneurship in asnaf community. Therefore, this research is initiating research on this topic by conducting a systematic literature review of the published works on entrepreneurship among asnaf community to explore the trend of the existing research works. A PRISMA approach is adapted to collect the relevant literature that is scoped only to the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. The result obtained from this research found that there are 12 articles in total that have discussed on asnaf zakat entrepreneurship topic. A thorough thematic analysis conducted on the extracted articles has categorized the research into three major themes, namely, the asnaf behaviour and attitude, zakat institution governance, and effectiveness of the entrepreneurial program. Based on the discussion, future research on this topic that can propose a comprehensive zakat entrepreneurship model is required to ensure a better impact of the zakat entrepreneurship programs. Thus, this research can provide a relevant article extracted from SCOPUS and WoS for future reference on this topic.
Ikmal Hafiz Jamal, Mohd Afandi Mat Rani, Mohd Izzat Amsyar Mohd Arif, Faezy Adenan, Norazlina Mamat Copyright (c) 2022 Ikmal Hafiz Jamal, Mohd Afandi Mat Rani, Mohd Izzat Amsyar Mohd Arif, Faezy Adenan, Norazlina Mamat http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/499 Fri, 16 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0800 Insights into the Current Phase of Metaverse and Its Impacts on Muslim Youth: A Broad-Spectrum Cognizance https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/468
Education is one of the most important tools in the upbringing of our younger generations. With the advancement in scientific research and technology, seeking knowledge, assembling literature, and attending smart classes have aided students largely. However, at the same time, the rapid growth of the technological and digitalized world has created havoc among the younger generations that are spending much time on the internet, social media and video gaming platforms provided by a massive number of smartphones. The large-scale consumption of these electronic devices has trapped individuals particularly the student communities in a new phase of the Metaverse. Although this digitalized phase has aided in the academic performances of the students, however, it has also brought many negative impacts like mental health issues, anxiety, insomnia, suicides, and drug abuse among students from primary schools up to the university level. The present study aims to provide an overview of internet and social media addiction among Muslim youth and potential approaches to regulate the overwhelming impacts on their health.
Muzafar Riyaz Copyright (c) 2022 Muzafar Riyaz http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/468 Fri, 16 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0800 Medical Marijuana From Medicine, Legal And Islamic Law Perspective: A Review https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/495
Possessing, processing and distributing marijuana or cannabis is illegal in many countries, especially Malaysia. The first line to prevent these is by practising a healthy lifestyle, particularly healthy eating practices from the early years. This review focuses on eating practices based on Holy Quran and Hadith recommendations. Muslim scholars' views based on the Holy Quran and Hadith recommendations were also referred to. This review highlights the healthy eating practices of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and enlightens the importance of halalan tayyiban foods. The electronic databases used were Google Scholar, Medline and PUBMED. Related books, journals, and articles were also reviewed. Healthy eating should begin from the first day of human life, that is, through breastfeeding. Healthy eating practices by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH through prophetic foods and scientific benefits have significant human value. Proper techniques like moderation in oral intake, masticating food well, eating fruit before a meal and consuming vegetable oil like olive oil are techniques practised by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Fasting, as a scientifically promoted method for a healthier life, was practised much earlier by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH This review likewise describes the halalan tayyiban foods, which are an essential part of daily eating practices.
Norhasnira Ibrahim, Fathima Begum Syed Mohideen Copyright (c) 2022 Norhasnira Ibrahim, Fathima Begum Syed Mohideen http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/480 Fri, 16 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0800 Forest Offences in Protected Areas: An Appraisal to Maqasid Shariah in Federal and State Government Relationship https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/489
Forest encroachment and illegal logging are statutorily recognised as forest offences under several forest-related acts. This is significant in a way it can mitigate the adverse loss of major biodiversity, forest environment quality and forest-dependent livelihood. Forest offences and wildlife crime are found to take place within the protected area, i.e., permanent reserve forests (PRF), national parks, sanctuaries and state land forests. This article adopts a qualitative method by using doctrinal research. Related forest legislation, statistical data on forest offences, wildlife crimes and literature are analysed to find gaps in the current statutory protection of the forest environment. Forest can be found listed under List II (State List) and List III (Concurrent List) in the Ninth Schedule of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. Due to this fragmentation of jurisdiction of the law-making power, the forest is governed by different laws and agencies. Thus, the dynamic relationship between state and federal government is significant in ensuring forests that are home to thousands of species of biodiversity, flora and fauna are safeguarded and protected for future generations to cherish. From the Islamic perspective, the protection of the environment particularly forests contributes towards fulfilling Maqasid Shariah (the higher objectives of Shariah). Besides, for the interest of the ummah, Maqasid Shariah encourages a good relationship between the federal and state governments.
Adzidah Yaakob, Intan Nadia Ghulam Khan Copyright (c) 2022 Adzidah Yaakob, Intan Nadia Ghulam Khan http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/489 Fri, 16 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0800 Analisis Tret Personaliti al-Falāḥ dalam al-Quran https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/500
Menetapkan sesuatu ciri-ciri keperibadian individu berjaya atau bahagia itu agak subjektif. The research aims to clarify the most important points of agreement and differences between the civil law and the Sharia standards in relation to Islamic financial transactions to identify the size of the gap between them, in preparation for conducting further studies in this regard due to the subjection of financial transactions applied in Islamic banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain to Sharia standards and civil law provisions. The research relied on the qualitative approach and comparative analytical description. The research concluded that there are many points of agreement between the two references and that the points of difference in the contract and the meeting are not essential, and the researcher recommends conducting more comparative studies between local laws and Sharia standards with regard to Islamic financial formulas and products and re-conducting a comprehensive study of Sharia standards to examine the gaps and weaknesses Through which Islamic banks and their contracts may be affected, the researcher also recommends that the (AAOIFI) Institutions issue sharia standards for contract theory, contract foundations and what is related to it, and to refer in the civil law to the reference of Islamic banks to the sharia standards affiliated with (AAOIFI).

Hamad Alshaikh, Habeebullah Zakariyah Copyright (c) 2022 Hamad Alshaikh, Habeebullah Zakariyah http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/471 Fri, 16 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0800 Waqf-Linked Unit Trust Funds: A Qualitative Analysis of Recent Application in Malaysia https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/514
The waqf concept has been integrated into a variety of financial assets, including Shariah-compliant investment vehicles like unit trusts.
