The research also examines the relationship between divine parables’ engagement and cognitive science enhancement for the selected case samples of university students in Uganda and Malaysia. The deductive and descriptive correlational analyses were used. On the one hand, the deductive approach used the selected Qur’anic parables as benchmarks for methods, procedures, analyses, and SADPC generalizations. On another hand, the descriptive correlational methods were used to analyze the perceived relationship between divine parables’ engagement and cognitive science enhancement using the two samples’ statistics in question. The deductive findings demonstrated the novelty, comprehensiveness, and relevance of the divine parables’ insights into human scientific cognition. The correlational analyses yielded the rejection of (H0) and installed a (Ha) that there is a significant relationship between divine parables’ engagement and cognitive science enhancement for the selected samples. This research introduced both the Islamic intellectual development model (IIDM) and the Islamic entrepreneurial planning model (IEPM) using SADPC. The SADPC significantly demonstrated an insight into empirical research, entrepreneurial, and intellectual development outlook for future Islamic science research.
Kirembwe Rashid Abdul Hamed, Mohd Aderi Che Noh, Siti Rosilawati Ramlan, Mohammad Najib Jaffar, Sakinah Ahmad, Hayati Ismail, Maziahtusima Ishak Copyright (c) 2024 Kirembwe Rashid Abdul Hamed, Mohd Aderi Che Noh, Siti Rosilawati Ramlan, Mohammad Najib Jaffar, Sakinah Ahmad, Hayati Ismail, Maziahtusima Ishak https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/629 Wed, 18 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Brand Openness, Awareness, and Interests in Muslim-Friendly Travel Agencies in Malaysia https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/589
Social media is a platform that enables users to get in touch with each other. The role of social media is widely recognised for anticipating the development of businesses and services. A unique corporate identity can be developed by promoting a product or service through social media, which has a very high potential to reach as many customers as possible. Similarly, social media is being used in the tourism and hospitality industry, for promotion, advertisements and marketing strategies. Muslim-friendly tourism travel agencies fulfil Muslim travellers' needs, including halal food, prayer facilities, cleanliness and safety, according to Maqasid Sharia. To what extent are brand openness, awareness, and interest correlated in Muslim-Friendly travel agencies in Malaysia? Therefore, this study examines the correlation between brand openness, awareness, and interest in Muslim-friendly travel agencies among 200 respondents. A quantitative approach is employed using an online survey from August to December 2021. The questionnaire was developed using Likert Scales, while the analysis used the Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS). A positive relationship was found between the use of social media and Muslim-friendly branding among the respondents. It suggests that social media helps users with brand awareness in the context of Muslim-friendly travel agencies in Malaysia. Stakeholders in the tourism industry are advised to utilise the benefits of social media to grow Muslim-friendly tourism revenue in Malaysia.
Rosninawati Hussin, Norhayati Rafida Abdul Rahim, Safiyyah Ahmad, Ihab Ahmad Uwais Copyright (c) 2024 Rosninawati Hussin, Norhayati Rafida Abdul Rahim, Safiyyah Ahmad, Ihab Ahmad Uwais https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/589 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Developing Virtual Reality (VR) Technology in Learning Arabic Grammar: An Insight on Needs Analysis for Arabic-VR Application https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/601
The learning of Arabic grammar – which uses textbooks with lengthy details can be translated into creative and innovative forms through the application of technological advancement. Meanwhile, learning techniques have been developing tremendously and continuously in this modern technological era. Worldwide educators from diverse backgrounds and cultures are well equipped with the recent teaching methods and tools widely used and accessible, guiding and nurturing the students in a productive and interactive classroom learning environment. Nowadays, significant studies have indicated that Virtual Reality (VR) technology is one of the many technological applications for facilitating learning. It is an emerging technology mediating a rapid transformation in the educational world. However, there is still limited study about teaching and learning a foreign language i.e. Arabic language by using this VR technology in Malaysia. The use of this technology has been less explored, particularly from the perspective of students at the university level. Therefore, this present study aims to gather students’ perspectives about their needs on form – hence, developing the Arabic-VR Application using VR technology in learning Arabic grammar. Generally, this study employed the Design and Development Research (DDR) methodology and approaches, and specifically it involved and only focused on the first phase of DDR i.e. needs analysis phase where this phase used a questionnaire on the use of the Arabic-VR Application, issues regarding students’ motivation of learning the Arabic language, students’ knowledge and needs of using the application in learning Arabic grammar, the interface and features of the application in learning Arabic grammar as well as the level of acceptance of the idea of the development of the application using VR technology in learning Arabic grammar among KUIPs students. The questionnaires were distributed conveniently to 150 students from various programs, who took a subject entitled Arabic Language (subject code: DTU 2022) at the Centre for Languages and General Studies, KUIPs in semester 1, session 2023/2024 of the academic calendar. Quantitative data was then analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) application to retrieve frequency distribution, percentages, mean, and standard deviations. Findings revealed a high need to develop the Arabic-VR application for learning Arabic grammar. There is a positive response to adopting technological tools i.e. VR technology for language learning as it was positively perceived to increase students’ motivation toward learning Arabic grammar.
Mohammad Amnan Awang Ali, Mohd. Zakat is crucial in reducing the income gap between the rich and the less fortunate. This study seeks to provide a more detailed analysis of the importance of zakat in mitigating wealth inequality among the Muslim population in Selangor. This study aims to determine the elements that impact the efficacy of zakat institutions in mitigating the economic disparity among the impoverished and destitute population in Selangor. The survey was carried out among those who receive zakat in four districts of Selangor: Kuala Selangor, Hulu Langat, Petaling, and Klang. The selection of these districts was based on their status as having the biggest concentration of zakat recipients in Selangor. 394 questionnaires were provided to Zakat recipients, and the data were analyzed using PLS-SEM to assess the efficacy of Zakat in mitigating income disparity. The empirical evidence suggests a notable correlation between an effective management system, ongoing monitoring of zakat recipients, organized zakat distribution, and the efficacy of zakat in diminishing economic inequality among the impoverished and destitute in Selangor. The findings indicate that zakat institutions should promptly implement policy steps to improve their distribution routes to effectively reach the intended recipients. This study enhances the current body of knowledge by focusing on the scarce research about zakat and income inequality. Hence, future studies must prioritize the examination of the variables that influence the effectiveness of zakat allocation
Mohd Rahim Khamis, Maryam jameelah Hashim, Azman Ab Rahman Copyright (c) 2024 Mohd Rahim Khamis, Maryam jameelah Hashim, Azman Ab Rahman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/604 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Dimensi Falsafah Sains Islam: Konseptualisasi Berdasarkan Islām, Īmān dan Iḥsān https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/607
The philosophy of science represents a second-order philosophical analysis of the field of science in general. Science is typically regarded as a generic domain for all forms of empirical knowledge, which undoubtedly originates from a particular worldview or paradigm. The Islamic worldview is constructed upon three fundamental principles: islām, īmān, and iḥsān. These three principles serve as the rubric for “Islam” in any field. Therefore, this paper aims to reconceptualize the dimensions of the Islamic philosophy of science based on these three pillars of Islam. Through content analysis of textual data collected from specific documents, this paper finds justification for the discussion of the three aspects—islām, īmān, and iḥsān—within the branches of philosophy: metaphysics, guided by sunnatu’Llāh (the law of God), forming “islāmic” science; epistemology, based on āyātu’Llāh (the sign of God), forming “salīmic” science; and ethics, founded on akhlāqu’Llāh (the attributes of God), forming “salāmic” science. This unique unity of worldview can serve as a foundation for further expanding the horizons of Islamic philosophy of science, which seeks to be developed in a contemporary world that also competes with various scientific paradigms.

Muhammad Farhan Firas, Wan Fariza Alyati Wan Zakaria, Kamarudin Salleh Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Farhan Firas, Wan Fariza Alyati Wan Zakaria, Kamarudin Salleh https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/608 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis Tematik Fatwa Kontemporari Semasa Pandemik Covid-19 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/609

Infectious diseases are not something new in human history. It has been recorded since before Christ until now and will continue to happen in the future. The transmission of COVID-19 and its declaration as a pandemic on March 11, 2020, have caused various problems and demanded changes in human life in general and religious practices in particular. Changes in the implementation of religious activities require the muftis to issue new views and fatwas to solve the problems faced by the community, especially concerning worship, in line with the standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the government. Fatwas that are different from these customary practices have caused misunderstandings among asatizah and the community to the point that there are groups that do not agree with the fatwas and SOPs issued, thus having a negative impact on the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing cases of infection. Thus, this study wants to analyse the contemporary fatwas during COVID-19 as a reference for asatizah and the community to understand the fatwas that have been decided. This study uses a qualitative methodology by conducting a content analysis of fatwas related to COVID-19 collected from various countries. The results of this study show that the main problem of the community, when COVID-19 occurs, involves matters of worship, apart from other issues involving matters of mu'amalat.
Muaz Muhammad Arif, Dr Mohammad Naqib, Muhammad Dhiauddin Ahmad Termizi, Mohd Fadzil Jamal, Mohammad Dzarul Hafiz Dol Malek Copyright (c) 2024 Muaz Muhammad Arif, Dr Mohammad Naqib, Muhammad Dhiauddin Ahmad Termizi, Mohd Fadzil Jamal, Mohammad Dzarul Hafiz Dol Malek https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/609 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Integrating Nutrigenomics and Traditional Wisdom: A Study of Dietary Ethics in Islamic Hadith and Kitab Al-Rahmah Fi Al-Tibb Wa Al-Hikmah https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/619
This paper explores the integration of nutrigenomics with traditional wisdom, specifically focusing on dietary ethics found in Islamic Hadith and Malay medicine manuscripts. Understanding the specific aspects of Arabic communication is crucial, particularly for public relations officers who interact with Arab patients in healthcare settings. The increasing language and communication barriers between healthcare providers and Arab patients necessitate the involvement of public relations officers as mediators, interpreters, or facilitators. However, non-native Arabic speakers among public relations officers until now face misconception and confusion of task, lack of knowledge on Arabic communication and Arabic culture during their daily work at the healthcare centers. Therefore, this study aims to identify the challenges faced by public relation officers in healthcare centers when attending to Arab patients and to analyze the needs of these officers toward the development of a comprehensive Arabic communication model for public relations in the healthcare industry. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five public relation officers from different healthcare centers in Kuala Lumpur. The collected data was analyzed using NVivo data analysis software version 12. This qualitative research incorporates Hutchinson and Waters' (1987) theory of needs analysis, focusing on three key components: necessities, lacks, and wants. The findings reveal that public relations officers encounter difficulties due to the lack of references or guidelines on Arabic communication, an uncooperative working environment, language barriers in translating medical terminology, and the use of uncommon Arabic dialects. The study also highlights the PR officers' pressing needs, which include the implementation of an Arabic communication model as a guiding framework for communication with Arab patients, as well as the enhancement of their communication skills and Arabic language proficiency to ensure high-quality service provision to Arab patients in healthcare centers.
Western scholars such as Goleman, Salovey, Mayer, Edward, Bar-On, and others have authored numerous books on emotional intelligence. However, they approached the subject through the lens of their own religions and philosophies, largely overlooking the unique Qurʾānic contribution in this regard. Similarly, Eastern educational psychologists have followed in their footsteps, without attempting to align this subject with Qurʾānic principles. Such alignment could have facilitated a deeper understanding of Qurʾānic teachings on self-management, interacting with the surrounding environment, and dealing with the universe in a sound and stable manner. Furthermore, it could have promoted the development of emotional intelligence skills based on instructions and role models found in the Noble Qurʾān. In light of these considerations, this research aims to establish a clear concept of emotional intelligence, explore its domains, and define its skills within a comprehensive Qurʾānic framework, utilizing an inductive-analytical and deductive approach. Key findings include: (1) Emotional intelligence is the active positive sentiment in this life; towards the Creator, oneself, others, the Earth entrusted to us, and the universe; (2) Emotional intelligence domains are categorized into five categories: Religious, Psychological, Social, Environmental, and Divine Laws; (3) Forty emotional intelligence skills have been identified, inspired by Qurʾānic verses. Finally, it suggests further studies to integrate emotional intelligence within its Quranic context, enriching understanding and application across various facets of life.

Abdelali Bey Zekkoub Copyright (c) 2024 Abdelali Bey Zekkoub https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/622 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 E-Platform for Purification of Islamic Thoughts: A Preliminary Study on The Needs Among UiTM Students https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/628
This study examines the needs of University Teknology MARA (UiTM) students for an e-platform to purify their thinking. In this study, the questionnaire consisted of three (4) parts that were designed as research instruments, namely part A: respondents' backgrounds, part B containing questions related to Islamic understanding and practice by UiTM students, part C containing questions related to UiTM students' thoughts, and part D containing questions related to the need for an e-platform to purify Islamic thought. The choice of answer is to use a Likert scale of 1–5. The findings of the study found that students have a high level of understanding and practice of Islam, but their Islamic thinking is still at a moderate level. Therefore, the need to purify Islamic thought is very appropriate to overcome uncertainty and ambiguity as well as students' confusion on issues related to Islamic thought.
Suliah Mohd Aris, Mohd Norazri Mohamad Zaini, Sumaiyah Bahri, Aishah Azlan, Che Zarrina Sa’ari Copyright (c) 2024 Suliah Mohd Aris, Mohd Norazri Mohamad Zaini, Sumaiyah Bahri, Aishah Azlan, Che Zarrina Sa’ari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://uijournal.usim.edu.my/index.php/uij/article/view/628 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000
